Third Anniversary August 30, 2008

This Monday, Tim and I will celebrate our third anniversary! It’s hard to believe that three years have really gone by – Tim really is the easiest person to be married to. Our anniversary typically falls on or around the Labor Day long weekend – sweet deal.

At our wedding reception in Vancouver, I surprised Tim by singing for him a beautiful song by Sarah McLachlan called Push. At the end of the song, my voice started to break and I couldn’t make it through without crying. Tim came and sat next to me for moral support as I finished the song. The lyrics are just as true today as they were then:

Everytime I look at you the world just melts away
All my troubles, all my fears dissolve in your affection
You see me at my weakest but you take me as I am
When I fall you offer me a softer place to land
You stay the course, you hold the line, keep it all together
You’re the one true thing I know I can believe in
You’re all the things that I desire, you save me, you complete me
You’re the one true thing I know I can believe
I get mad so easy but you give me room to breathe
No matter I say or do cuz you’re too good to fight about it
Even when I have to push just to see how far you’ll go
You won’t stoop down to battle but you never turn to go
Your love is just the antedote when nothing else can cure me
There are times I can’t decide when I can’t tell up from down
you make me feel less crazy when otherwise I’d drown
When you pick me up and brush me off and tell me I’m okay
Sometimes that’s just what we need to get us through the day
You stay the course, you hold the line, keep it all together
You’re the one true thing I know I can believe in
You’re all the things that I desire, you save me, you complete me
You’re the one true thing I know I can believe

Justin Hackworth Photography June 6, 2008

I recently had the pleasure to sit for Justin Hackworth and have my portrait taken by him.  Justin knows how to utilize light beautifully.  Here are a couple he posted on his blog.  You can also see the whole shoot, including shots of Tim and I, here.

I’m totally excited. I’m going to get my portrait taken tomorrow by Justin Hackworth Photography! I know Justin through my BNI networking group and have to say, he has a great eye for weddings, families, photo shoots, portraits and scenery. I have been perusing through his blog this afternoon, www.justinhackworth.com/blog, and here are some of my faves.
