After living in Saratoga Springs for two and a half years, we have finally taken the plunge and will be moving (though not to Vancouver… yet) to Orem where we’ll be minutes away from work and school.  We’re looking forward to a fresh start, a new ward, a new neighborhood and a revitalized commute.  As of November 1st, we will be new residents of Orem.

As the happy owners of a calico cat, Ginger, I have heard the best way to move a cat is to move everything ELSE first and then bring the cat last.  That way, upon arrival, the cat will smell the familiar furniture and it will be a smoother transition for her.

What tips do you have for moving?

My tip for moving is that you don’t move at all…No, no, I am just kidding. This is very exciting news for you two! I am sure it will be different for you, but the one thing I had to keep in mind when switching wards was that, as difficult as it may be, we all have a purpose in the places we go. There are SO many amazing people no matter where you are, so it will be a great new experience 🙂

This means we need to fit in a walk in the next 2 weeks!

That’s awesome, Quincy. I’m way excited to meet new people and try a student ward instead. Are you enjoying your new ward?

Yes, a walk would be great! Maybe today?

For sure don’t let your cat outside while moving. This may confuse little kitty into thinking you are leaving w/out her. My cat actually ran away while we moved. And after being gone for 3 weeks our old neighbor found her and called us. I hope all goes well and you guys all enjoy the new place. 🙂 Good Luck!

OH MY GOSH! What a scary story about losing your cat! For sure, we’ll lock Ginger in the bathroom while things are being moved around. She tried to kill the cat upstairs recently so that would be a good thing for both their safety 🙂 Thanks Chandra!

  3. I like your cartoon. What are you doing? NOTHING!!!! LOL. So good. It looks like teenage girl squad. THE UGLY ONE!!!!

I hope everything went well with your move. We have moved our two cats a few times. Usually they are just fine. Sometimes a little shy for the first couple of days in the new home but usually their curiosity gets the best of them and they come out to explore. I hope you like your new home and your new Adventure!
