With prices up straight across the board, here are some tips on how to spend less and pinch pennies.
- Enjoy a tasteful dinner in
As fun as it is to go out for dinner with friends, it’s not the most economical. Why not consider inviting everyone over for a potluck dinner party in? The perks – you’ll save money, and will be able to hear your conversation 🙂 Check out www.evite.com for classy invitations.
- Rent movies instead
Going to the movies on Friday night may run you $30 with popcorn and snacks. Why not hit the Redbox instead for $1 and make some microwavable popcorn? Savings – $27! (of course, the need may arise, with movies like the Dark Knight, to save up and splurge every so often)
- Embrace public transportation
When given the opportunity, take public transportation. Sure, you may have to wake up a little earlier and get home a little later but you’ll save big time at the pumps. Consider a monthly bus pass is $60-70 — about the same price as a weekly tank of gas if you drive an SUV!
I’m sure you’ve got some great ideas of your own on how to pinch pennies. Would love to hear them!
